Some moments in business are less about strategy… and more about instinct.
We recently made our first-ever plugin acquisition, a WordPress tool called Sticky Header Effects, and while it may seem like a small step from the outside, for me, as a founder, it was a quietly powerful one.
Why This Plugin? Why Now?
For years, we’ve built our own products from scratch. We’ve shaped ideas, fought bugs, redesigned flows, and improved UX, all the things that make product-building such a deep and personal craft.
But this time, something shifted.
I came across Sticky Header Effects while exploring what users loved most about certain small but impactful tools. It didn’t scream for attention. It didn’t try to do everything.
But what it did, it did well, helping Elementor users create better scrolling experiences with headers that felt alive.
And for some reason… that simplicity spoke to me.
It Was Never Just About Features
When I first looked at it, I didn’t see just a plugin.
I saw an idea that had already earned trust.
I saw potential that was slightly hidden.
I saw an opportunity, not to reinvent, but to care for something that was already useful and respected.
That’s when I realized: this would be our first acquisition.
Not because we needed it. But because we believed in it.
The Emotions Behind the Decision
Buying your first plugin isn’t about the price or code. It’s about stepping into someone else’s creation and choosing to be a steward of it.
It reminded me of the early days of my own journey, when all I wanted was for someone to believe in what I was building.
So, with that same respect, we reached out to the creator. The conversation was smooth, honest, and aligned. No ego. No unnecessary complexity. Just mutual respect for the users and what the plugin stood for.
What This Meant to Me
To most people, this may just look like a small plugin changing hands. But to me, this felt like a signal.
A signal that our company is growing not just in size, but in maturity.
That we’re no longer just builders, we’re now caretakers, collaborators, and community-driven thinkers.
We didn’t acquire Sticky Header Effects to rebrand or aggressively scale it.
We acquired it because we saw something worth preserving and evolving, slowly, mindfully, respectfully.
Looking Back, Looking Ahead
This was our first plugin acquisition. It may not be our last.
But no matter how many more we do, I’ll always remember this one as the beginning of a new chapter, one where we started thinking differently about growth, partnerships, and trust.
And as a founder, that shift means everything.
